#1 Glacier View Golf Club Par 4

#1 Tee

The first hole at Glacier View is a dogleg left Par 4. There are townhouses which are OB along the left side. A good drive is placed between the homes on the left and the tree in the middle of the fairway. You should not need a driver on this hole unless you are going for the green. There is room to the right if you don’t want to chance the OB on the left. The approach is to a green with no sand around it, but a large pine tree on the front right.

#2 Tee

The 2nd hole is a straight Par 4 that is driveable. At only 275 yards from the back tees, the only trouble is OB if you miss left and 2 bunkers on the front left of the green. If you want to play it safe, a long iron off of the tee will leave you with a short approach to this green.

#3 Tee

Number 3 is the only Par 5 at Glacier View Golf Club. Pull out your driver here and hit it just to the right of the large pine on the left side of the fairway. A good drive will put you in position to reach this green in 2. There is no sand around this green.

#4 Par 4

#4 Tee

Hole 4 is a straight Par 4 that opens up to the left. If you hit your drive right on this hole, you will end up in a low area full of trees with no shot at the green. Hit your drive down the left side and you will have an easy shot into this green.

#5 Par 3

This is a short Par 3 but there is a bunker on the front left and the green falls off on the front right. Choosing the right club is key since you will need to get to the middle of this green in order to keep it on. There is OB on the left and trees on the right.

#6 Par 4

#6 Tee

This Par 4 is a slight dogleg left. There is a bunker on the right side of the fairway in the landing area. Hit your drive just to the right of the tree on the left side of the fairway and you will be set up for a short approach to this green.

Another dogleg right Par 4, this hole opens up and you are able to hit your drive to the left or right of the tree on the right side of the fairway. There is very little trouble on this hole so go ahead and swing for the green! There are no traps around the green but the green drops off hard on the left side.

Hole 8 is a short Par 3 with a bunker on the back right of the green. Aside from the bunker, there is no trouble around this green.

#9 Par 4

#9 Tee

This hole is one of the longer Par 4’s on the course. It is a slight dogleg right but aside from a couple of trees, it is pretty open down the right side. To stay safe, aim just left of the large Cottonwood on the right side of the fairway. Choose the right club for your approach since this green drops off on 3 sides, front, back, and left.

#10 Glacier View Golf Club Par 4

The back nine at Glacier View starts out with a Par 4 that requires an accurate drive. It is a short hole so a long iron off of the tee will put you in a good spot for your approach. There is a pond on the left and right and a fairway bunker on the left side in the landing area. The green is tucked into a wetlands area with water on the right and rear of the green.

Another driveable Par 4, be careful of the pond on the right side. There is also a trap on the left front of the green. If you want to play it safe, hit a long iron down the middle for a short approach into the green.

This long Par 3 is the number 1 handicap at Glacier View Golf Club. Check the wind and choose the right club to get to this green. There is no sand around this green.

#15 Par 4

Another very short Par 4 but the green sits behind the large Cottonwood tree on the right side of the fairway. The smart play is to hit a long iron down the right side of the fairway. There is a pond to the left that is reachable from the tee. There is no sand around the green.

The photo above is from the back tees. The White and Red tees are located to the left of the pond. It is driveable from the tees left of the pond but trees on the right make driving the green difficult from the back tees. There is a bunker on the front left of this green.

One of the longer Par 4’s on the course, this dogleg right has a pond down the right side of the hole. Hit your drive down the left side of the fairway to the corner and you will have a good approach to a slightly elevated green. There is no sand around this green but the green falls off on the front left.

The finishing hole at Glacier View Golf Club is a dogleg left Par 4. It is not a long hole so a long iron down the right side of the fairway will set up your final approach shot. Any miss to the left will be tree trouble. This green has no sand around it but drops off on the right side and rear.

Glacier View Golf Club Course Conditions & Review

Glacier View is one of my favorite courses in the Flathead Valley. It is short and fairly open. If you are feeling bad about your game, play Glacier View and your confidence will soar. It is always well maintained and play usually moves fast. It is always fun to try and drive Par 4’s and you have that opportunity here on several holes. The putting surfaces are in good shape and need to be on the slower side due to the undulations of the greens. It is an all around fun course to play with spectacular views of Glacier National Park. I highly recommend this course to anyone visiting the Flathead Valley!

Restaurant

The restaurant at Glacier View Golf Club has a large selection of Salads, Sandwiches, and Burgers. There is a patio outside that looks over the 10th tee and 18 Green. You can purchase beer and wine at the restaurant to take on the course. The food is very good and you can schedule parties and receptions here.

Satellite View

As you can see, Glacier View Golf Club is surrounded by the Middle Fork of the Flathead River and Glacier National Park. There are homes around the perimeter of the course and some homes sit on the hill above the course. Most homes on the course are smaller cabins with the larger homes sitting on the hill overlooking the course. There is very little turnover of homes in West Glacier due to the spectacular location. Only 4 homes have sold in this area over the past 3 years. They ranged in price from $252,000 up to $575,000. If you would like more information on homes at Glacier View Golf Club, please visit Montanaliferealty.com or email montanaliferealty@gmail.com.
