Mission Mountain Golf Club Mobile App

Mission Mountain Golf Club App
Mission Mountain Golf App

Before you get out to the course, be sure to download the Mission Mountain Golf Club mobile app. Here is the link for the app or you can find it in the App Stores by searching Mission Mountain Golf Club.

This is the first course that I have played this year that had their own app. After using this app, I think every course should have their own! It has many features and makes playing the course for the first time much better.

App Main Menu

As you can see, the app has everything you need to get to the course, play the course, or set up your next tee time.

GPS Yardages

The GPS and Scorecard section was a huge help to me. I have never played Mission Mountain before so having a detailed map of each hole and a video flyover was awesome.

Hole Map

As you can see above, each hole has a map that shows key yardages and the distance from each tee. If you hit the yellow “sight” button on the left, the GPS will update the distance to each section of green at the top right of the screen. I found it to be very accurate, I didn’t have a rangefinder so the app GPS was a huge help. If you hit the “i” button, you will see a flyover video of the hole.

My Scorecard
Scoring

At the end of each hole, you hit the “Record Strokes” button and enter your score. When you finish your round, you will have a digital scorecard saved to the app. You can have the card emailed to yourself or anyone that you are trying to impress! The app also breaks down your round and keeps track of your stats as you can see below. This is a great feature for anyone who plays the course regularly.

Stats

I really cannot say enough good things about the mobile app. There are many other features on it that are very handy. You can see the food menu and call in an order directly from this app as well. Download the app and try it out for yourself, you will not be disappointed!

Mission Mountain Golf Course Hole by Hole

In this section, I will describe each hole on the Mission Mountain Golf Course. I will give you my opinion on how you should play the hole and my thoughts on each hole. Remember, these are only my opinions based upon my background and experience in the golf world. Feel free to comment below with your own opinions! If you would like to know more about my background, read this.

#1 Par 5

Mission Mountain #1 Tee
#1 Tee

The first hole at Mission Mountain is a straightaway Par 5. The landing area is wide and there really isn’t any trouble unless you miss far left. The houses are OB along the entire left side. As you approach the green, there are bunkers on both sides of the green.

Another hole with homes that are OB far left, this Par 4 is a slight dogleg left off of the tee. A little draw on your drive will put you in a perfect position for the approach. There are a pair of bunkers on both sides of this green. There is also a small tree on the right side that can come into play if you miss short right.

#3 Par 3

The first Par 3 at Mission Mountain is the third hole. This medium length hole has 2 bunkers on the right side of the green. There is an old bunker behind the green that is now grass.

#4 Par 4

Mission Mountain #4 Tee
#4 Tee

Number 4 is a slight dogleg right. There is a pond around the left front and side of this green so you want to keep your drive down the right side to avoid the pond on your approach. The edge of the pond is about 300 yards off of the tee so it doesn’t come into play for most people until the approach. There are 2 bunkers that guard the right side of this green.

#5 Par 4

This hole is the number one reason to use the mobile app. With a pond on the left and a creek that splits the fairway, the app gives you some key yardages off of the tee. The best position for your drive on this hole is about 220 yards down the right side. This will leave you with a short approach over the creek to a green that has a small bunker on the right side.

#6 Par 5

Another straightaway Par 5, the 6th hole is played best down the right side of the fairway. There is OB along the left side over the boundary fence. A large bunker protects the front left of this slightly elevated green. There are a few trees if you miss short right.

#7 Par 4

#7 Tee

The 7th hole is a hard dogleg right. There is a lot of tree trouble and a pond on the right side if you try to cut the corner. The best drive will be just to the left of the tree on the right-hand corner of the fairway. Once you are past the corner, everything opens up for your approach into this green. There are a pair of bunkers on the right and left side of this green.

#8 Par 3

#8 Tee

One of the best backdrops at Mission Mountain is on the 8th hole. Once you take your eyes off of the view from the tee, you will need to avoid the bunker on the front right and back left of this green. This is a fairly short Par 3 with a large green.

#9 Par 4

9 tee
#9 Tee

The front nine finishing hole is a straightaway Par 4. Keep your drive down the middle left of this fairway and you will be in good shape for the approach. There is a bunker on the front right and left side of this green. The houses on the left are OB.

The back nine at Mission Mountain starts out with a good Par 4. Another good time to use the app is on this tee. As you will see, this hole is a dogleg right. If you hit your drive about 250 yards towards the farmhouse that you see beyond the fairway, you will be at the top of hill hitting down to the green. There is a wetlands area in front of this green, anything short of the green usually kicks back into the tall grass. Get your camera out on this hole!

#11 Par 3

Number 11 is a nice Par 3 back over the wetlands. It is a large green with no bunkers. There is plenty of room to bail out on the right if you need to. Short and left are big trouble on this hole.

#12 Par 4

12 tee
#12 Tee

This Par 4 is a slight dogleg left. If you keep your drive down the left center of the fairway, you will be in perfect position for the approach. Tree trouble down the right side. There is a large bunker on the front left of this green.

#13 Par 4

Number 13 is a longer straightaway Par 4. If you avoid the trees on the right side off of the tee, the only trouble on this hole is the bunker on the front left of this slightly elevated green.

#14 Par 4

#14 Tee

This hole will definitely tempt you to go for the green off of the tee. The hole is only 288 yards from the back tees so it is reachable. It will take a good carry to get there since the green is elevated and there are 2 bunkers out in front of this green. A smart play is to lay up with your drive and have a short approach into this 2-tiered green.

#15 Par 5

Mission Mountain #15 Tee
#15 Tee

The Par 5, 15th is the number 1 handicap for good reason! This long dogleg left has 2 ways to play it. Look at the app and you will see the layout of the hole. (see photo below)

I didn’t notice the 2nd fairway on the left and I made the mistake of playing down the right side. It seems as though a drive and second shot down the left side would make this hole much easier. If you end up down the right side of this hole, you will almost need to layup two times before your approach to the green.

Mission Mountain #15 Landing Area
#15 Landing Area Right Side

The wetlands on the left and in front of this green make the approach from the right side very difficult. Once you get to the green, there are no bunkers around it.

#16 Par 3

After surviving the 15th hole, you will be rewarded with this easy Par 3. A good size green with no bunkers around it should get your confidence back after 15!

#17 Par 4

17 tee
#17 Tee

The 17th is a straightaway Par 4 that is slightly uphill. In order to set up the best approach to this green, hit your drive down the right side of the fairway. There is a large bunker on the front left of this green so coming in from the right side of the fairway helps take that out of play. There is a small bunker on the back right of this green as well.

#18 Par 5

The finishing hole at Mission Mountain is a long straight Par 5. There is plenty of room on this hole so go for the long drive here. If you hit a good drive, this green is reachable in 2. As you approach this green, the only trouble is a bunker right behind the green.

Mission Mountain Golf Course Conditions

Mission Mountain Golf Club was a fun course to play. It reminded me of the course that I grew up playing in southern Minnesota.

It is fairly wide open on many holes so you can get away with some errant tee shots and still save par. The greens were rolling 8 on the Stimpmeter at the beginning of July. Overall, the course was in OK condition. You can see that there are some issues with irrigation and there were some dried out areas around the course. It was hard to focus on any of the negatives with the views of the Mission Mountains on many holes. It is a great course for anyone starting out, and challenging enough for lower handicap players.

Mission Mountain Pro Shop

Pro Shop

The pro shop is located upstairs, behind the dining area in the clubhouse. They have men’s and women’s golf attire, golf clubs, and accessories for sale. You may also purchase range balls in the pro shop. There are PGA Teaching Professionals available if you would like lessons.

Mission Mountain Food & Beverage

Dining Room

The Cantina Grill is located in the clubhouse and is open from 11 AM-8 PM daily. They have a full liquor license so you can get drinks or beer after your round of golf.

You can also check out the menu on the mobile app and call from the course to order food. There is also great outdoor seating to enjoy your meal or drink.
