The opening hole at Double Arrow is a straightaway Par 4. There is OB along the right side and tall grass along the left. The large pine tree right off of the tee protects the right side of the fairway. The green is slightly uphill on your approach. Any shot that hits left of the green will kick down the hill into the tall grass.

If you are able to hit a big fade, you will love this tee shot. If not, hit a long iron out to the corner. A straight tee shot with your driver will put you in the trees on the left. This dogleg right is short enough that an iron off of the tee will put you in good shape for your approach. This is the first of many greens where there is a bunker that is not visible from the fairway. The bunker is on the front right of this green and it is fairly deep.

#3 Double Arrow

The 3rd hole is the first Par 3 at Double Arrow. This is a fairly short hole with no trouble around the large green. This is probably the easiest hole on the course!

#4 Par 5

4 tee
#4 Tee

Number 4 is the first Par 5 at Double Arrow. It is a fairly short Par 5 but because of the layout, it really isn’t reachable in two.

After your drive, the hole is a hard dogleg left. You should try to keep your drive down the left side of the fairway. This will leave you in the best position for your 2nd shot which will be a short iron to the next landing area over a creek. Due to the trees and the creek along the left side, it is not really possible to cut the corner. There are no bunkers around this green. This hole is all about positioning. If you have never played here and you have time, drive up to the landing area before you tee off and see what you are up against.

#5 Par 3

This Par 3 has another bunker that is hidden and cannot be seen from the tee. It is located on the back right of this large green. Anything short or left will be OK on this hole.

#6 Par 4

#6 Tee

Another short Par 4 where your driver is not necessary. Hit a long iron towards the fairway bunker on the left side and you will be in good shape for your approach. The green is slightly elevated and there is a bunker on the front right of this green that cannot be seen from the fairway.

#7 Par 4

#7 Tee Double Arrow

As you can see on the above photo, you will need to hit a very straight drive through a narrow chute of trees. The hole moves a little left so try to keep your drive down the right side as much as possible. Be careful on your approach since there are bunkers on the front right and front left of this green that cannot be seen from the fairway.

#8 Par 4

This hole is a slight dogleg left Par 4. There is OB all the way down the left side and a pond and creek along the right. Make sure to align yourself on the tee. The trees and the tee box set you up to go right. A drive in the left center of the fairway will put you in a good position for your approach. There is a bunker on the front left of this green.

The front nine ends with a straightaway Par 5. There is OB on both sides but it is a fairly wide fairway. Play it down the middle but watch out for the hidden bunkers on the front right and front left of this green.

Double Arrows back nine starts out with a short Par 4. Driver not needed on this hole. Hit a long iron down the right side to give yourself a clear approach to this elevated green. Anything on the left side will make it difficult to reach a back left pin placement. There is a bunker on the front right of this green.

#11 Par 3

This downhill Par 3 is the number 18 handicap at Double Arrow. The only real trouble is long. The back side of the green drops off and there is OB past the fence.

#12 Par 4

12 tee
#12 Tee

The 12 hole is a straightaway Par 4 with a creek in front of the green. Try to stay in the middle of the fairway, there are some tall shrubs and brush in the creek bottom on the right and left side that can obstruct your view of the green on the approach.

#13 Par 5

Hole 13 is the first Par 5 on the back nine. It is a dogleg right around a pond. A drive just over the corner of the pond will put you in a good position on this hole. There was a temporary green on this hole but there is a bunker on the front right.

Another temporary green on this Par 3. This looks like a good hole when open. 160 Yards from the middle tee to a green with bunkers on the front right and left.

#15 Double Arrow

This Par 4 is very similar to #12. A straightaway hole with a creek in front of the green. A drive near the middle will give you the best vantage point for your approach. There is a bunker protecting the right side of this green.

#16 Par 4

16 tee
#16 Tee

The 16th at Double Arrow is a good Par 4 that moves slightly to the right. There was a temporary green on this hole. There are bunkers protecting all sides of the real green.

#17 Par 4

17 tee double arrow
#17 Tee

In my opinion, the 17th hole is the best hole at Double Arrow. It is a longer, dogleg right around a pond. A good drive will be down the right side to the corner. Anything short of the corner will require a shot over water to the green. There is a bunker on the front left of this green.

17 Green Double Arrow

Similar to #4, this Par 5 is a dogleg left with water on both sides. If there is time, drive up around the corner and see where you need to be. A good drive will be just to the left of the tall tree that you can see between the cart path and creek.

#18 Landing Area Double Arrow
#18 Landing Area

As you can see in the photo above, your second shot needs to be placed in the middle of the fairway in order to give you a clear approach to this green. It is a narrow opening over a creek on the approach to this elevated green. There are bunkers protecting the front left, front right, and the back of this green.

Double Arrow Golf Course Conditions & Review

On the day I played Double Arrow (June 27th), there were still 3 temporary greens on the back nine.

Aside from those holes, the course was in decent condition. The greens were on the slow side, rolling 7 on the Stimpmeter. It is a course that will be challenging to anyone playing it for the first time. Positioning of your shots is key on this course so local knowledge is very helpful. Many greens have bunkers that are not visible on your approach and there is water on many holes. This course is not very long but it requires accurate shots.
