#1 Par 4

#1 Tee

The opening hole at the Big Sky Resort Golf Course is a slight dogleg left. The hole looks narrow from the tee but there is plenty of room across the creek that runs in front of the tee. A drive to the right side of the fairway will give you the best angle for your approach into this green that has 2 bunkers on the left and 1 behind.

#2 Par 5

#2 Tee

A good drive on this fairly short Par 5 will give you a chance to reach the green in 2. Aim to the left of the right-side fairway bunker.

#2 Landing Area

At this point, you can layup for an easy approach into the green or you can go for it. There are bunkers on the right and left side of this green. The creek runs down the right side of the hole near the green.

This long Par 3 requires a shot over the creek to a green that has a bunker on the right side. The creek continues down the left side of the hole. With wind in your face, this green will be tough to reach.

#4 Par 4

The 4th hole is a slight dogleg right. If you can aim your drive right over the top of the cart path, you will be in a good position for your approach. There is a fairway bunker on the right side at the corner. Bunkers protect both sides of this green.

Golf Course Conditions & Review

The Big Sky Resort Golf Course is a typical resort course. It is fairly open and the roughs are not long. The greens were rolling a moderate 8.5 on the Stimpmeter. Aside from #17 and 18, there really aren’t many memorable holes on this course. This course does sit in a beautiful valley and the views of Lone Mountain and the surrounding mountains make this course enjoyable. This is the only course open to the public in Big Sky so it is very busy. On the day I played, I ran into a ton of people on the back nine. There were 3 groups on 1 hole. There were no marshalls so it was slow going!
