Glacier Park Lodge Golf Course starts out with a straightaway downhill Par 4. A good drive will be down the left-center of this fairway. There is OB over the fence on the left and trees on the right. The approach will be to an elevated green with no sand around it.

#2 Par 4

#2 Tee

The 2nd Hole is a wide-open driving hole. There is really no trouble on your drive unless you miss far right or left. The approach is into a green that has mounds on the right and left sides. There are no bunkers around this green.

#3 Tee

Hole 3 at Glacier Park Lodge is a long straightaway Par 5. This is the number 1 handicap hole on the course. There is plenty of room on this hole for your first 2 shots. If you can keep it down the right side of the fairway, you will have the best lie for your approach. The fairway slopes from left to right near the green, and there is a creek that crosses in front of the green. Anything on the right will give you a level lie for the approach into this 2 tiered green.

#4 Par 3

A stunning backdrop frames the first Par 3 at Glacier Park Lodge. If you can keep your eyes off of the view, you will need to hit a longer iron into this large green. There is no trouble if you miss on either side of this green.

#5 Par 4

#5 Tee

Another straightaway Par 4, keep your drive down the left side of this fairway to avoid the long grass and trees to the right. There is some mounding on the left side of this green.

#6 Par 4

#6 Tee

The 6th hole is a straightaway Par 4 with a blind tee shot. The fairway slopes from left to right over the hill so a drive down the left side will end up in good shape.

Choose the right club for your approach into this green. There is a large slope between the front and back tiers of this green. Putting from one tier to the other will be very difficult.

#7 Par 5

#7 Tee

One of the best backdrops of a tee shot in Montana, this Par 5 heads straight towards Glacier National Park. The biggest challenge on this hole is to keep your eyes off of the view!

#8 Par 4

#8 Tee

The 8th hole is a dogleg left par 4. Unless you can hit a nice draw around the corner, the best drive will be about 210 yards down to the right side of the fairway. The drive is the key to this hole, any miss to the left is big trouble. Once you are around the corner, it is a fairly easy approach to this green.

#9 Par 3

#9 Tee

The finishing hole at Glacier Park Lodge is one of the longest Par 3’s in the state. From the back tees, this Par 3 measures 246 yards. There is plenty of room to hit a wood or utility club on this hole. There is a steep mound on the left side of the green that will help you or hurt you depending on which side your ball lands on.

Glacier Park Lodge Golf Course Conditions & Review

Glacier Park Lodge Golf Course is one of Montana’s most historic courses. Built in 1928 by the Great Northern Railway, this is the first course in Montana to have grass greens.

The course is fairly wide open with no sand traps, making it a great place for beginners, or anyone looking to relax and take in the views. It would be difficult to find another course in Montana with the scenery that surrounds the Glacier Park Lodge course! It will not be the best-maintained course that you will ever play, but you will be focused on the views. The greens were rolling 7 on the Stimpmeter on July 4th.
