Meadow Lake Golf Course Hole by Hole
In this section, I will describe each hole on the Meadow Lake Golf Course. I will give you my opinion on how you should play the hole and my thoughts on each hole. Remember, these are only my opinions based upon my background and experience in the golf world. Feel free to comment below with your own opinions! If you would like to know more about my background, read this.
#1 Par 4
The first hole at Meadow Lake is a slight dogleg left with water everywhere. You need to carry your tee shot over a creek that runs in front of the fairway and along the left side, for the entire length of the hole. There is a pond that runs along the right side of the fairway. A drive down the left center of the fairway will leave you with a clear approach to a green with no sand around it.
#2 Par 3
The second hole is a Par 3 that requires a carry over a wetlands area and a large bunker in front of the green. The green slopes from back to front so choose the right club to get to a back pin.
#3 Par 5
Hole 3 is a long narrow Par 5. There is a thick stand of trees along both sides of this hole. A creek runs along the right side in the trees near the green. A long straight drive along the left side of the fairway will put you in the best position for your approach to this green that is protected by a bunker on the front right.
#4 Par 4
The fourth hole at Meadow Lake is an odd hole. You tee off through a narrow chute towards the 150 marker. Choose a club that you hit about 180 yards for the tee shot. A straight shot with a driver will go through the fairway and cutting the corner is not an option. If you hit a drive just to the left of the 150 marker, you will be left with an approach shot that is straight up a steep hill to the green that has no sand around it.
#5 Par 3
Arguably, the best hole at Meadow Lake is the Par 3, 5th. The tee shot is downhill to a green that is narrow from front to back and protected by a creek that runs across the front. There is a bunker in the back of the green. The green is larger on the right side so a left pin is very difficult.
#6 Par 4
The 6th hole at Meadow Lake is a long dogleg left Par 4. A long tee shot to the corner is required on this hole to have any chance at par. A drive down the left side to the corner still leaves you with a 200-yard approach to a green that is protected almost entirely by a bunker on the front right.
#7 Par 5
The 7th hole at Meadow Lake is a double-dogleg Par 5. The best drive here is down the right center of the fairway. If you want any chance at birdie or par, you must hit your 2nd shot down past the second corner. A good 2nd shot will be to the left of the 150 marker (2nd stake). See photo below.
If you can get your 2nd shot down to the opening, you will have an uphill approach across a creek to a green that is protected by a bunker on the front left.
#8 Par 4
The 8th hole is a difficult Par 4. There is OB all the way down the left side and water all the way down the right. There is a fairway bunker on the left side for those trying to avoid the water. The best drive is down the left center of the fairway, this will help you avoid the pond and the bunkers on the right side of the green.
#9 Par 4
Number 9 is a short Par 4. Do not hit a driver on this hole. This is another hole where a 180-yard tee shot will put you in a good position. Aim for the 150-yard marker which is left of the large pine tree. Too long and left, you will find a pond. The approach into this hole will be over a creek to a green that is protected on both sides by bunkers.
#10 Par 4
The back nine at Meadow Lake starts out with a slight dogleg right Par 4. This fairway slopes from right to left, so try to land your drive on the right side and let it roll into a good position. This green is protected by bunkers on both sides and there is OB behind the green.
#11 Par 4
Number 11 is a tricky driving hole. Another fairway that slopes from right to left, you must keep your drive on the right side of the fairway, which is tough to do. As you can see in the photo below, a drive on the left side will leave you behind the large trees on the left side. This is a small elevated green with no sand around it.
#12 Par 3
The 12th hole is a short Par 3 with a bunker on the back left of the green. There is OB to the left and behind this green.
#13 Par 5
The first of back to back Par 5’s is #13. A drive down the right side of the fairway will put you in a good position for your 2nd shot. The hole moves slightly left as you approach the green. You will be hitting an uphill approach to this green that is protected by a bunker on the left side. Any shot that misses left, can kick way down a hill that runs along the left side of this hole.
#14 Par 5
Another Par 5, the 14th hole is a great looking hole from the elevated tee. If you can keep your drive down the right side of the fairway, you will be in good position for your second shot that needs to go down the left side of the fairway. There is a pond on the right side of the green and 2 bunkers behind the green. The road to the left is OB.
#15 Par 4
A long straightaway Par 4, the 15th hole has OB all the way down the left side. As you can see in the photo below, you will want your drive down the left side of the fairway in order to avoid the large pine tree on the right side during your approach. Behind the green drops off sharply and the road is OB.
#16 Par 3
The 16th hole is a short Par 3 over water. Choose the right club to get over the pond and avoid the sand traps behind the green.
#17 Par 4
Number 17 is another short Par 4. Pull out the driver and go for the green! Compared to the rest of the course, there isn’t a lot of trouble on this hole. There is OB way left, but plenty of room right. If you can land your drive at the 150 marker or beyond, your ball will get a downhill kick towards the green. The approach will be slightly downhill to a green that has no sand around it.
#18 Par 4
Be sure to check the marker on the tee box for yardages on this finishing hole. There is a yellow post to aim for located between the two fairway bunkers. There is water beyond this landing area so a driver is the wrong club selection. A short accurate approach shot is required to avoid the pond in front and the bunkers surrounding this green.
